All of You 03:19
I've been digging in the backyard Watching all the things that glow with gold I've been making lots of progress With all the things that I've been told Make my butterflies slither All kindly, they're flowing Into each other All finding and all knowing Twisted little fingers colliding to survive and combining to become all of you I've been feeding all my liquids I've been feeling down and out I've been making lots of rain-checks For events that have been snowed out All our wrenching metals All grinding and groaning Into each other We'll find them, all showing Breathing all your gases and bleeding from your features All you inertia but you're standing still
2.
There are critters in the mist Don't say anything, they hide There are critters in the mist They come all day and all night And they gnarl and they crawl to the knotted trees where I am sleeping And they snarl and the claw all the while my wires do not know Where to go, where to go, where to go, where to go But if you scream out to them They will laugh and pretend That they are critters in the mist singing songs There are critters in the mist Don't say anything, they hide There are critters in the mist They come all day and all night And their shadows in the dark are stretching on the bark as you're waking and the bubbles in your spine are popping all the time that you're low Where to go, where to go, where to go, where to go But if you crack them back They won't howl or attack That they are critters in the mist singing songs There are critters in the mist Don't say anything, they hide There are critters in the mist They come all day and all night But there's warmth in their fur that wasn't there before that you noticed And a pallid ashen glow in the midst of it so now I know Where to go, where to go, through the snow, through the snow And you'll be in the sleet And you will see, yes you will see The critters in the mist singing songs.

With your telescopic eyes You see it true where Crawdaddies crawl And snakes do slither When you see through it all The veil is lifted Ideas flood your brain And one is growing But the sun is going to rise and you'll dance away from the dawn Are you creaking in your angular spires? Because you're dressed in sheets of white You've become such a scary sight With your rotted bark Are you hiding? Leaking all your salt Molecules in motion They are writhing in your skull They pilfer pieces Sweaty hearts beat slow And bloom ideas And the sun is going to rise but you're getting worse everyday You're enclosed in your dreams and thoughts And your shadows seem to screech The fires lengthening their reach And the sun is going to rise but the smoke will block your sight All the particles illuminate and your eyes will shut up tight Oh you put up such a fight

Cycles 03:52
We are precious cargo carted across the sea Expelling sins and homilies so listen please And sometimes we're vicious cycles destroying everything we make Ignoring our mistakes, you make me wait I never said I want to go there I never thought I'd be that cruel I never said I want to go there You just forced me to And we are pointed fingers dripping with wax and oil My silhouette in the soil, scarred by toil So if you see the traces of dark lines across my face Cycling through my disgrace and distaste I never thought I would do that I knew you didn't want me to I never thought I would do that Now I'm sure that I'm a fool So if we juice our bodies and we liquidate the past I'm scared you won't come back and I won't last And now we're twisted metals mercurial and vain Rusting in the rain we're not the same I never said I want to go there I never thought I'd be that cruel I never said I want to go there But I guess it'll have to do

Light Broken light In creaks in time It bends and winds And dark Hollow dark It knows what pours It leaves its mark So we dance And we dive This fleshy expanse Frozen alive We'll know By the cold By the cold Where to go spick and spangle we arrive and untangle unravel our things and greet the icy depths board and breadth we effervesce we phosphorous despite the flickering blood ichoring we approach ignoring the bitter bicker where the heat does permeate compose and collate whilst the world rotates arbitrate the dark and the ancient silence Cold All our cold Has been surged Buttoned and purged Broke Broken flag All our specks Irradiated here and now the world is loud we sink and sprinkle into our solemn nets our loyalty kept we intercept air nympholept is one with whom solitude solace subdued and subterfuge results in exuded faith in tasks we break our backs we can't go back to face the ruin "Brass my buttons all the way Let me sink into the clay" "Bury beaks in sticks and string I will be your precious thing" "Seep into my shallow hole Shadow me wherever I go" "I know what to believe Hope will bring you back to me" "Lead for home and left for dead Fold me tight beneath your bed" "Pull your lips around my nose I'll curl firm around your clothes" "Body of water was my stage Now confined within this cage Where I don't know what I'm to do Because hope won't bring me back to you" And Sea Oh Sea I see how it should be When cold we will freeze When warm we will breeze We will breeze We will breeze We will breeze We will breeze

This fertile, fragrant Earth Spins in fragile sweeping turns Though you sit in the darkness You move so elegant/Your stance so confident Oh Secret of my Dark Your feet soaked in the marsh I'm so vilified inside, corrosive to the core And my mind goes So slow But you seed me and lead me To all the joy and unimagined things Like trying to catch the bees out of my brain All the joy and unimagined things Like all the bones in your wings Can you feel the wind Wrestling with the trees The leaves all overpowered, yellow in the breeze And they move Just like you So softly and gently Like all the joy and unimagined things Like how the colours swirl all around All the joy and unimagined things Like all the bones in your wings Bring all the joy and impossible things Like how our shapes tesselate And I can't tell why, you got so high With all those bones All those tiny little bones All the burrowing bones beneath your wings

Pareidolia 06:02
Hungry ghost with throat so tight Has come to haunt your bed tonight In faint white wisps it comes to me A beady dot sharp and ebony A beady dot staring back at me A beady dot where I should be When you say it's not dark enough yet Well, how much darker could it possibly get In the fog I miss the line A polished glass dug into my spine A polished glass running out of time A polished glass I could call mine Black wall stretches higher and higher Hungry ghost with throat on fire There are spectres everywhere Got an ear that I could lend Got a minute I could spare Got a heart but no hope there And I see you've got it all wrong The skies are open and they string you along I'm falling from their shameful stares Going turn from the eyes they bear But you see I'm occlusion Beady dots shine crystalline Polished glass your least favourite one All ears leant completely deafened But they will hear you They will see you Universally
9.
Changes 03:19
I'm afraid of changes I make them everyday My heart rearranges All the things that I could say It's a sad, sad thing To release the love you bring You've been making changes You get stronger everyday While I am left stagnated Because I refuse to change It's a sad, sad thing To have someone clip your wings To sing, sing, sing and no one's listening Though I'm afraid of changes I try to make them everyday And though it can leave you frustrated I want you to stay It's a sad, sad thing To have someone feeding on your dreams To be a burden bereaved And to swim in those drowning seas But I'm drinking from your porcelain skull And I'm pulling your chalky fingers And I'm swimming in your blood I just hope it's enough Though I'm afraid of changes I try to make them everyday And the one thing that never changes Is that I want you to stay It's a sad, sad song But it's not a sad, sad song And it's not a sad, sad song As long as you sing along

Beauty 03:34
You were always such a beauty Your blankets clean and of pure white And you grappled devil's horns While training for the good fight You held onto angel hair But slipped down seven miles And landed in a bedroom Paying off the broken roof tiles There was once that you held me And let me crawl inside your womb And you laughed on the inside And I shook around my new found room Then you spat me out with menace You wouldn't let me stay And I cried up an ocean On which I slowly drifted away You live with a volcano He is just the tip of the ice He is fuelling the mirrors And your kept just barely alive So you begged everyone to Crawl out from their sleeps And love you like no other Because he thinks you're just something in the sheets.

Fire 03:25
Me Spiralling flower Robbed of my power I see the mist Through the dense circles of Fire surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire You Serene and repose Wearing brass clothes Winged and free You don't see what I see the Fire surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire Us Encircled in hues Burnt in our pews Gunpowder streams That spark and give rise to Fire surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire Surrounded by fire

about

Concentric Circus' follow up to 'Ampersand and Sand' is the extremely varied 'Critters in the Mist'. A record that spans from intense, ramshackle darkness (All of You) to near-orchestral grandeur (Beauty).

You'll hear some psychedelia (Cinders and Embers), distorted paranoia (Pareidolia) piano-led epics (Body of Water) and some catchy pop songs (Cycles, All the Bones in your Wings, Changes, Critters in the Mist).

Recorded between November 2016 - January 2017.

Concentric Circus hope you enjoy this new album and look forward to hearing from you if you do.

May the liquids in your ears never solidify, so that you may continue to consume aural sustenance.
